If you’re the kind of person who finds photos of other people’s kids and/or grandkids boring, you may want to click away now!  I am a proud Mom/Nana who loves to share pictures of my family, especially my precious grandbabies.  I love looking at family pictures, no matter whose they are, but I know not everyone feels that way and I understand that,  so I’m warning you now this is going to get sappy!

          Too cute for words!

Drama Queen took this picture of Ladybug after she had put her hair up in a ponytail.  It’s a little blurry, but you can see how adorable she is!  Drama Queen told her to pose and this is what she did, it’s just too cute.

                 Our Little Professor

Here’s Spiderman playing computer games, he’s really gotten very good at them.  I’m amazed at how computer literate he is already at the age of four, he’s going to soon be able to teach his Nana a thing or two about computers.

Here’s Ladybug working on an art project and finishing her lollipop.  I couldn’t get Spiderman to look at the camera and she piped up and said “Take my picture”, so of course, I did!

                 Look at that dimple!

It’s been too cold here lately to play outside, so when Beth and the little ones come over on Wednesdays we’ve had to find fun things to do inside.  I love doing arts and crafts with them, so we pulled out the glitter glue and had a ball.  Here’s Spiderman working on his masterpiece.

Papa’s joining in the fun after work

Here’s Papa giving the kids a ride on his back, they were playing dinosaur and having a grand old time as you can see by the look on their faces.  We look forward to Wednesdays when we get together as a family and spend time together, it’s the highlight of our week.

                      Hang on Ladybug!

In this photo Spiderman is doing a fantastic job as a dinosaur, complete with the scary roar.  Poor Ladybug was slipping off, but it didn’t seem to bother her at all.

Thanks for letting me share my photos, these are precious memories we’re making and I want to record as many as I can.

Have a great night!

It’s time to play catch up with my blogging, I’m posting about an event from last Saturday, but we had so much fun and I got some great pictures so I decided to post about it even though it’s a week late.

Drama Queen and I met Phillip, Beth, Spiderman, and Ladybug at a fall festival in a nearby town.   One of my favorite things about Fall is attending the different festivals in our area.  This was our first year to attend this particular one and it didn’t disappoint us, we had a great time!

We watched the parade first, there were antique and vintage cars, vintage tractors, local boy scout troops, a local dance studio’s students performing, floats from local churches, horses pulling buggies, and of course, a fire truck!  I didn’t take many pictures of the parade, I guess because I was too busy enjoying myself I forgot to.    Here are some pictures of us waiting on the parade to start.

              Nana and her babies

               I love a parade!

     I’m ready for Mardi Gras!

One of the floats was throwing Mardi Gras type beads to the crowd, we caught several strands and these huge pink ones are the ones Spiderman wanted to wear.  This particular strand of beads was heavy, I’m surprised he wore them as long as he did.

                Watch me slide!

After the parade we had lunch and then walked around to some of the craft booths, then we took the little guys over to the playground where they had a great time.  Here Ladybug is getting ready to slide after having climbed up the ladder at least four feet by herself.  She would not let Phillip give her a hand up, she wanted to do it all by herself.

          Finally, lunch time!

Here’s Drama Queen enjoying her lunch of Polish sausage, I caught her mid-chew.   She enjoyed herself, but she was looking forward to leaving the festival to go look at puppies.   This was the same day we got our new puppy, Oreo.

I’m looking forward to the next festival and of course to our annual trip to the Pumpkin Farm.  Fall is such an awesome time of year, there are so many fun activities to participate in and of course the beautiful weather makes them even more enjoyable.

Well, I’m off to bed, I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

Our precious little Ladybug fell Wednesday night while they were over at our house for dinner, she hit her eye on our coffee table and the poor little thing ended up with a black eye!  Talk about breaking your heart, we were all traumatized, praise God it wasn’t any worse and she is going to be fine.  But, it’s so sad to see her sweet little face with her eye all black and blue.  Beth emailed me this picture yesterday,  you can see how pitiful she looks below, but she’s such a trouper it hasn’t slowed her down a bit.

                Ladybug’s Boo Boo

Ashley was off today, so we took Drama Queen, Spiderman, and Ladybug to Chuckie Cheese’s for a couple of hours of fun.  We all had a blast, the kids played games and rode the little rides, and we had lunch.  They were so excited to be there, as soon as we arrived Ladybug had to get down and dance, and Spiderman couldn’t wait to play the games, he’s getting quite good at them.  Phillip, Beth, and the little ones are leaving for the beach tomorrow and will be gone for a week, so we enjoyed the time spent with the grandbabies before they leave for vacation.

       Ladybug, the Dancing Queen!

Watch out Jeff Gordon, Drama Queen’s behind the wheel!

Even though Drama Queen is growing up, she still enjoys going to Chuckie Cheese’s.  In fact, it was her idea.  She loves getting the tickets from the games and getting a prize with them.  I love it that she still has a lot of little girl left in her, I don’t want her growing up too fast!

My favorite pasttime is spending time with my family, and today was so much fun,  I feel so blessed!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The house is quiet again, Cupcake and Blue Eyes have gone back home, Natalie and Joey came back from their trip to Florida Monday evening with the eight girls they are houseparents for in N.C., and they all spent the night and left out around lunch time yesterday.  Beth is back from her birthday trip to N.Y., so Spiderman and Ladybug are home with their mommy, and Drama Queen and I are recuperating from all the fun we had with them.    And Oh My, what fun we had!!

On Monday, we had all four of the grandbabies all day, and it was quite an eventful day.  All four of them were up by 6:30 a.m. and ready to rock and roll from the moment they got up.  It went really well for the most part, we did have a few stressful moments when everyone wanted Nana’s attention at once or else they were all fussing with one another, but we survived with Nana’s sanity intact.  With four little ones, 3 1/2 and under, there was never a dull moment, but I enjoyed the time with them, and as soon as I’m rested up I’ll be wishing they were back!  Actually, I do miss them already, I love those little tykes so much, they hold my heartstrings.

Blue Eyes, Spiderman, Cupcake, and Ladybug

Trying to get a picture with all four of them looking at the camera proved to be an impossible task, but I thought this one came out really cute!   Blue Eyes and Ladybug are looking off at something else, and Spiderman and Cupcake are making silly faces at me, but you can still see all of them pretty well.  When I look at their little faces, all is right with the world and I know that I am blessed beyond measure!

Well, I’m off to try and catch up on some of my favorite blogs (it may take me a couple of days), I’ve really missed reading them, and I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to.  Have a great night!

Six Flags – Whoo Hoo!

            Drama Queen and Hillary

Yesterday we went to Six Flags for a fun family outing, Phillip, Beth, Spiderman, and Ladybug, and Drama Queen, her birth sister, Hillary, and I all loaded up in the van and drove down for the day. (Unfortunately, Ashley had to work, so he missed out on the fun.)   We arrived just as they opened and stayed until around 6:00 pm, we couldn’t believe the little ones lasted all day.  They were great the entire day and we had an enormous amount of fun!

             Ladybug and Spiderman

Six Flags has an area just for the little ones, called Bugs Bunny World, Spiderman and Ladybug had such a great time there!  Spiderman’s favorite part of all was an area called the Carrot Patch which had giant vinyl carrots hanging from the ceiling,  the kids could punch them or run through like an obstacle course.  Ladybug kept saying “ride, ride” every time we got into line for another ride, she loved the rides, but the waiting in line, not so much!

                Can you say blue!!

Please pardon the undissolved cotton candy on Spiderman’s tongue,  I asked him to show me his blue tongue so I could take his picture, not realizing he wasn’t finished chewing!  I had to post this photo anyway, it’s just too cute for words, at least in this Nana’s eyes.

I have to confess I am still tired today from the outing, it was worth every ache I am feeling, but I miss being younger and having boundless energy.  Thank goodness for hot showers and ibuprofen!  Well as they say, “A good time was had by all.”

Have a great weekend!

Family Fun

Today was a great day spent with family!  Natalie, Joey, Cupcake, and Blue Eyes are here visiting for a couple of days, so we decided to go on an outing to Chuckie Cheese’s.  Drama Queen and I picked up Beth, Spiderman, and Ladybug and headed out for an adventure.  Unfortunately, Ashley and Phillip had to miss out on the fun, they both had to work today.

Everyone had a great time together, we played games, ate pizza, and laughed a lot.  The little ones were so adorable dancing to the music!  I took lots of pictures of everyone enjoying themselves, but I’m still having difficulty posting my photos.  I’ve figured out how to get them to the correct size, but I’m still having trouble with the clarity.

I’m going to persevere until I get it right!  I may be technically challenged, but I’m going to be tenacious when it comes to overcoming these obstacles.  I’m open to any and all suggestions and/or advice on how to post my pictures more clearly.  I want to preserve these memories, I know how fleeting time is.

Today was a blessing, but I’m worn out so I’m off to bed.  I hope you have a great Friday!

Today was so much fun, Beth came over this afternoon with Spiderman and Ladybug to spend some time with Drama Queen and me.  Phillip came over after work and they stayed and had dinner with us.  Afterward, Beth and Phillip went to their small group from church, so we got to hang out with Spiderman and Ladybug for the evening.  Hubby had an errand to run after work so he didn’t get home until 7:00, but Drama Queen stepped up to the plate and helped me tremendously.  Even though she sometimes gets a little jealous of the attention the little ones receive, she is awesome at helping look after them.

Spiderman has decided that he is “Puss in Boots” after watching the Shrek movies, and wants us to call him “Boots”.  He has assigned everyone in the family a character from the movie, I am Pinocchio.  Tonight after his bath when I was putting his pjs on, we were talking about Puss in Boots and the fact that he has a yellow feather in his hat.  I remembered that I had some craft feathers that I had purchased for a homeschool project earlier in the school year, and I asked him if he would like one to go in his hat.  He was so excited, he couldn’t get dressed fast enough.

We found a yellow feather and placed it in his hat and the look on his face when he saw himself in the mirror was priceless!  He kept touching it to make sure it was still there.  Papa kept teasing him, calling him “Peter Pan”, and Spiderman would tell him “I’m not Peter Pan, I’m Puss in Boots”.  I love it that something so simple as that little yellow feather could bring him such joy.  It was an eye opening reminder that what our children and grandchildren need most from us is love and our time.  They won’t remember the toys we bought them, but they will remember the trips to the park, the games we played, baking cookies, and all the fun things we did together.

Little Miss Ladybug was her usual adorable self, she is such a little lovebug!  Her vocabulary is amazing, she is learning new words every day and she can repeat most words that you say to her.  I know that I’m a proud Nana, but I am amazed at how many words she knows at just fifteen months old.  One of my favorites is “no-man”, her way of saying snowman.  I left out some of my snowmen for the month of January, and she is always pointing to them and saying “no-man”.  It is so precious, I love to hear her say it over and over.

God has blessed me with a wonderful family and I am so thankful!
